SHAMS is dedicated to the conservation of coral reefs and sea turtles in Saudi Arabia's Red Sea. As part of our mission to safeguard these vital ecosystems, we manage the issuance of research permits for all scientific activities related to coral reefs and sea turtles. We are also responsible for issuing permits for coral restoration and relocation activities. Please note that Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) are processed by the National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC). Any ESIAs relevant to coral reef and sea turtles will be forwarded to SHAMS for review and assessment. To further streamline these processes, we are developing an integrated online platform and application system. Until it is launched, please direct all permit applications or inquiries to: permits@shams.gov.sa.
